I am an experienced clinician with a long history of working with children, families, and professional networks in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), particularly for children in care. After several years of working in residential homes for children, I trained as an art therapist in 1993, driven by my passion for helping children in need of extra care and my lifelong interest in art and crafts.
For the past 28 years, I have served in NHS CAMHS services in West Sussex and Portsmouth. My professional development includes Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy Levels 1 and 2, and I am an accredited practitioner in Video Interaction Guidance (VIG).
Currently, I focus on independent VIG work, a valuable intervention for individuals seeking to improve their important relationships, whether within couples, between parents and children, or among staff teams. VIG’s strengths-based approach allows individuals to observe and enhance their existing relationship skills. During my own VIG training, I gained insights into my own interactions, appearance, and communication style.
I am passionate about connecting with people and understanding the complexities of human relationships. I believe positive relational change requires empathy, curiosity, and a sense of being understood—skills I strive to bring to my work.
I hold a current DBS certificate, am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, and have Public Liability Insurance.
